constant changes..

2 wks of ETI is over.. and tt marks officially half of my course :| yeah i knw it's fast - in abt 9 more days and my this course/phase will end... whether i'll be posted to field engr [think infantry chiong sua], plant engr [think operate tractors and machines], armoured engr [think armour chiong sua + build bridge], or bridging engr [think watermanship + more bridges], will just leave it to Him ba..

happened to walk through my neighbourhood just now and realised tt most of the shops thr haven changed since my prisch days - even those which changed like the sweet-talk and some random watches/hp shops or the dental/medical clinics have been thr since my secsch days.. somehow walking through the same old place which layout has been more than familiar for the past few yrs was rather comforting, somewhat some sense of familiarity and security in this fast-paced changing environment - even the playgrounds around the neighbourhood are newer than the shops, and with lift upgrading plans set to commence and complete in the nxt few yrs, it looks like this place gonna see more changes..

still, as i said, things haven really changed much.. the wet market's pretty much the same, the butcher, the fishmonger, the fruits-seller, the shoe shop whr i always got my prisch shoes, the aunty at the shoe shop, and even the cashier of the shop n save outlet is still the same - she's the mum of 2 guys who were my schmates/busmates back then in prisch and she's been working in shop n save ever since my prisch days.. haven changed much, save her hair which has greyed over the yrs..neighbours have changed a lil' here and thr but still pretty much the same - the eighth floor old grandma who's been toking to me in dialect since young, my nxt door neighbour.. all haven changed.. not even the guy who lives in the adj block.. the guy who was from nanyang prisch whom my mum used to compare me with, saying how smart he was and he was from the gifted prg and from a gd sch etc etc etc.. saw him again the other day in his JJC PE tshirt.. so much for comparisons..

yeah i like my neighbourhood, except for one point - my close fren/s aint anywhr near , well at least not in the sense of walking distance like the adj block, or the block opposite the road, or the block next to the park... sadly so, but i guess tt's sth i have managed to live with the past 10 odd yrs.. well sometimes we just wanna find sth to complain amidst sth.. hmm sometimes toking over msn/phone/sms just cant beat toking face-to-face..
