Does it matter?

Does it matter if you get into the mood of inspiration before embarking on a piece composition?
Does it matter if you see the bigger picture before you go into the future?
Does it matter to have the heart before you start?

Does it matter how you really feel before you are thrown into the open field?
Does it matter how prepared you are before you head out and drive the car?
Does it matter if you are uncertain about your next turn?

Does it matter where you're headed toward if you're not going forward?
Does it matter where in life you'll be if you know that's really not "me"?
Does it matter how lead your life if all you have is just a knife?

Does it matter? Sure it does.

But nobody else gives a damn.

packing

A couple of interesting things I found whilst packing through my drawers:

1) Random poem I wrote don't-know-how-many-donkey years ago.

2) Looked through the 16PF personality test report done in JC. Was particularly amused by this part:

Mr Edmund's profile suggests he has similarity to persons who express interest for the following career fields related to his unique activity interests:

Child Development, Social Service, Counseling, Teaching

Occupations directly related to Mr Edmund's unique activity interests are:

Occupational Therapist, Religious Leader.

Haha OT and Religious Leader. Nice.

Marriage

Marriage is not about never being tempted again,

it's about remembering the best and walking away from the temptation.

Marriage is not about never socialising with your friends again,

it's about remembering your commitment to somebody to be there at the end of the day.

Marriage is not about never being disappointed again,

it's about remembering that the person comes as a whole package.

Marriage is not about never having arguments and fights again,

it's about remembering that the person is worth it.

a storm is brewing

A storm is brewing. Well, quite literally. The incessant flashes of lightning accompanied by the rumblings of the thunder. And yes, the rain has just started to come down in full force.

Ahh such weather usually creates two kinds of reaction - it makes one want to snuggle up in bed (with or without someone else), cover up with the blanket and just take a snooze; alternatively, it gets one into that pensive and reflective mood. For now, it's the latter.

Not that I'm thinking about anything in particular, but it's just -the- mood.

The Rain (drops)

The cascading rain drops

Passing by my window,

One in but a million

Without much of a shadow.

Without much choice,

Only one directional craft,

The only alternative

Is to go with the draft.

And there you have it. Life.

Starting Anew

The Merlion by the river,

The innocence of youth,

If only all of the uncouth

could be washed away by the water.

The rational is now awake,

The nights of regret,

Don't add another mistake

to one already in fret.

The uni-directional life,

The benefit of hindsight,

It's always a moment of folly

that lands one in this plight.

It overflows from this side,

Indeed I wanted to hide,

The awkwardness was never

the Merlion by the river.
